Making a welding/carving skirt

I like trousers with lots of pockets. It just helps organise things when you are doing stuff.

I especially like holster pockets that sit outside the trousers for popping things in for handy access when you are making stuff. These pockets are wide open at the top and this makes them really easy to use, on top of the internal pockets that have other things like the phone, keys, wallet, etc

Trouble is - being so wide open and handy, they are exposed to sawdust when carving or metal filings when angle grinding, etc.

So I made this leather skirt to pop over the top when getting down and dirty when making things...

It needs a bit of finnessing, but blimey, does it do the job, especially with the leather welding apron over it

It used to be this stylish suede coat...

Don't think this is the same Lakeland that sells handy kitchen equipment, but you never know...

First cut out the lining..

Snip, snip, snip...

I also got these handy offcuts...
