Pie! - Happy birthday to me!

I'm  not supposed to eat offal as its cholesterol is not good for me...

And yet, here's my last birthday's tasty tea - steak, ale and kidney pie, chips and peas - fuck yeah!


It's not that clear, but the age is written in the pastry...


This is a pretty basic Jus-Rol pastry.
The filling is a dark gravy, from frying kidney, onions and mushrooms in butter, then with some flour, mustard, salt and pepper added, stirring up a roux with some delish Old Tom for the liquid base...

Old Tom - A great, dark, pretty mellow, but cheekily strong ale...

Yep...
It tasted as good as it should have!
